National Talent Search Examination (NTSE) 2017 will be conducted by National Council Educational Research and Training (NCERT). NTSE is a scholarship examination through which eligible students get scholarship. NTSE Exam is necessary to be eligible for scholarship program which conduct by NCERT. All candidates who will appear in examination will get shortlisted on basis their performance in NTSE examination. NTSE Scholarship Exam conducts in two stages in a year, first conduct in the month of November, 2016 and second will conduct in the month of May, 2017. NTSE 2017 Eligibility Criteria
All those students who are appearing in class X can apply for NTSE Exam 2017. Candidates who belongs from any State of India can apply for this NTSE scholarship program. There are no restriction for any category, so all category students can apply for this. Student can apply for stage-I and Stage-II any one from these.
Students who are registered for Open Distance Learning (ODL) will also eligible for scholarship program. Candidate’s age must be below 18 year (as on 1st July, of appearing year), candidate should not be employed and he/she should be appear in class X first time.
NTSE 2017 Selection Procedure
NTSE scholarship exam will be conducted in two stages, so we are discussing about both stages below.
NTSE Stage-I: NTSE Stage-I exam will be conducted by State/UT generally, so all state candidates can participate in this exam. Stage-I generally conducted in the month of November, so all those candidates who are appearing in class X can apply for this exam. It is necessary to qualify Stage-I to appear in Stage-II.
NTSE Stage-II: All those candidates who will qualify Stage-I will be eligible for Stage-II. It is a National level exam which conducted by National Council Educational Research and Training (NCERT). In this exam students across India can apply.
NTSE 2017 Scholarship Details
Scholarship will be awarded from Govt. of India for different stages as follows:
The scholarship of Rs. 1000/- will be awarded for National Talent Search Examination. The amount of scholarship will be varying as below.
- Scholarship of Rs. 1250/- will be awarded for class XI and XII students.
- Candidates will get scholarship of Rs. 2000/- for under graduate and post graduate students.
- Scholarship for PhD candidates will be based on ugc norms.
- Reservation will vary as 15%, 7.5% and 3% for SC, ST and physically challenged students.
